QT300 Controller ModuleRTS has recently completed a Sound Masking installation for a corporate client in central London incorporating 3 zones and 122 emitters.

RTS installed a Cambridge Sound Management QT300 control module, capable of multi zone installations up to 36,000 square feet. The QT300 was connected to 122 individual emitters across 3 independent zones.

This system is capable of covering up to 3 diverse areas in buildings needing improved speech privacy. Configuration of the system was through the QT300 web browser interface or the front panel which can be locked out to avoid unauthorised tampering.

Why Sound Masking?

Sound Masking is the process of adding to an environment a low level of unobtrusive background sound engineered to protect confidentiality and reduce distractions by reducing the intelligibility of speech, thus making the acoustical environment more comfortable.

Most workplaces today feature more open spaces and smaller, and often shared, workstations. Less sound absorptive materials are being used such as lower or non-existent partitions, hard or glass surfaces, and thinner walls and doors. This creates acoustical challenges that negatively impact workplace satisfaction, productivity and speech privacy.

Cisco-Partner-Select-Certification

 

RTS have recently installed a number of Cisco TelePresence video conferencing endpoints to a London based international financial organisation. As a Cisco Select Partner, RTS is the ideal choice for installing Cisco MX800, MX300 and DX80 video conferencing endpoints.

RTS was awarded the contract to supply and install a number of next generation Cisco Telepresence devices to one of the world’s largest investment management organisations offices in central London.

RTS were consulted in the early stages of the project to provide advice to the client who were looking to upgrade their existing video estate, which included a number of legacy Tandberg endpoints.

Working closely with Cisco, RTS supplied and installed a number of MX 800 and MX300 room systems along with DX80 desktop endpoints, on time and within budget.

This investment allows users to easily collaborate instantly between global offices via HD video whilst controlled by Cisco’s intuitive control surface supplied with each system.

The Cisco MX800, MX300 and DX80 are part of Cisco’s newest line of TelePresence solutions that harness the best in both the latest technology and design.

 

 

The MX800 supports several sophisticated camera features to enable intelligent viewing capabilities within a video conference. You can choose from a powerful single camera or an intelligent dual-camera speaker-tracking solution; both cameras deliver the best possible video imaging with up to1080p60 resolution. An industry-first feature – PresenterTrack1 – supports automatic detection and tracking of the presenter at the front of a video conferencing room, dynamically following the presenter from seated to stand-up position within a defined trigger area so they can about more freely (requires additional Cisco TelePresence Precision 60 Camera).

Sound Masking is the addition of an unobtrusive background sound, similar to airflow, to reduce the intelligibility of human speech and to reduce distractions. The resulting environment leads to greater productivity and increased privacy and comfort.

Corporate offices feature a variety of workspaces that require their own unique solutions for improving worker comfort, productivity, and speech privacy. Modern open offices contain far more reflective materials, such as glass and wood, than ever before. Then, combine those factors with more benching and less private offices. RTS was approached to design and install a multi zone sound masking solution as part of an office refurbishment in central London. The space was a combination of open planned office spaces, communal hallways and private meeting rooms.

QT300 Controller Module

Qt emitters are wide dispersion direct field speakers with 1.25” (3.17 cm) drivers and are smaller than a coffee mug. All Qt emitters come in the adjustable format. These emitters deliver four uncorrelated audio channels, which provide uniform, unobtrusive sound masking. This feature, along with plug and play installation and easy configuration capability, make Qt® systems the most intelligently engineered and most effective sound masking systems on the market today.

RTS installation engineers worked alongside various tradespeople to ensure that the sound masking installation was delivered on schedule and to budget.
